SCHOOL BASED PROJECTS

ECHOES ON THE WIND

CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LUCAS SECONDARY SCHOOL AND INGERSOLL DISTRICT COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE

2008-2009 EDITION OF ECHOES ON THE WIND

Echoes on the Wind is a student-driven publication that is in its 4th year. This past school year, the Echoes editorial teams from A.B. Lucas Secondary School and Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute have composed a poignant collection of artwork, poetry and prose exhibiting experiences of students in the Thames Valley District School Board. In picking up their pens and paintbrushes to support this initiative, students have embraced artistic expression as a medium for sending positive messages to their peers in the areas of healthy relationships and violence prevention. In its third publication, Echoes continues to showcase student talent and voice, and encourages viewers to reflect on the significance of each artistic piece.

With contributions from a variety of schools, Echoes is a collaborative student leadership initiative that relies heavily on support across the Thames Valley. We would like to congratulate all of the students who submitted such excellent work to this year’s publication and who share in a vision of positive peer influence. Additionally, we commend the editorial teams for their outstanding teamwork in executing this project and for creating an opportunity for student voice to be heard.

Thank you to all of the individuals who contributed to this project. It is with great anticipation that we await Echoes 2009-2010.
