SCHOOL-BASED PROJECTS

Video Diversity Program

ORIGINAL CORE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

As a supplementary resource for the Core Grade 9 Physical and Health Education, students from local high schools assisted with the development of two resources: Role Play Examples and Debriefing and Skills for Effective Relationships. These resources are continually being updated to reflect the needs of our ever-changing population.

Role Play Examples and Debriefing was designed as a tool for teachers to help facilitate role-plays. Students act out situations and a teacher periodically stops them and provides advice and feedback, similar to what our Fourth R teachers would do. In addition, this resource also contains examples of Fourth R lesson facilitation done with real classes, plus students offer their feedback about the program.

The Skills for Effective Relationships video includes a variety of role-plays acted out by students as examples for them to model when practicing their own. The original video has been modified to include adaptations based on the needs of the population we service
